Shot in the Dark is a singleplayer action game, about a Wizard who is shooting ghosts. This game was made by myself in April-May 2020 for my Intro to Game Development class using Gamemaker Studio 2.

I was inspired to make this game by a mechanic I noticed while playing Minecraft. In Minecraft, there is a flying monster a “Phantom”, which swoops down from above to attack the player at night. I thought it would be interesting to create a game focused only on shooting at flying monsters in the dark.

One new thing I tried while making this game was to use particle effects, instead of sprites, to create the visuals for all the enemies and projectiles.
